Kotuku Gallery showcases the work of some of the West Coast's most talented Maori carvers.
Established almost 20 years ago by Kereama (Lou) Armstrong, his work along with the works of other renowned carvers are on display. Check out a historic weapon set dating back thousands of years and see fantastic intricate designs made from wood, whalebone and locally-sourced pounamu. Resident carvers Hohepa, Steve and Mike are often around to chat and you can watch the masters at work in the onsite workshop.
It's a fantastic place to pick up a unique souvenir complete with certificate of authenticity.
