L'oeuf has only been open for a little while and is located in Mt Albert, a little ways away from the main epicentre of cafe culture of Auckland, but despite this they've already garnered a big following for their inventive menu that is a pleasure to look at as well as eat. The name L'oeuf means "egg" in French, and here you can have your oeufs walnut-crumbed, soft-boiled and perched atop a filo pastry nest and rocket salad. A great brunch spot for the adventurous foodie.
Magnifique! You have to check this place out. In all my travels there's nothing quite like this gem which is tucked away on Owairaka Rd, just off Richardson Rd- A stones throw from New North Rd. Taste and visual sensations. I had the eggs in the filo nest on greens, feta and beetroot relish sprinkled with colourful flowers. The coffe was superb. Our milkshake came in a cute old school cream bottle and the fruit and porridge was almost too good to eat. Tasted even better! Definitely worth the short drive over. Stroll up Mt Albert afterwards.
