Located 2 kms east of Takaka, the Labyrinth Rocks Park features 2 hectares of unique landscape with native trees and a natural rock maze through a series of karst limestone canyons.

Originally established by the late Dave Whittaker, the former geologist and mining engineer leased the land off the council and turned it into a popular attraction for local families and tourists.

Today the park is a Tasman District Council reserve and features the magnificent Labyrinth Rocks Walkway. Consisting of 3 kms of easy pathway, the walk takes approximately 1 hour and entry is free of charge.

Head just two kilometres out of Takaka, on the road towards Pohara, and follow the signs to the incredible Labyrinth Rocks Walkway. It truly is one of Golden Bay’s most amazing secrets. The walkway is through a maze-like network of limestone canyons. The walkway is open to the public and still being developed but, with solid footwear, kids will love it. It’s a very special place and enchanting family wonderland. Suitable for young or old - one of this region's great little discoveries.
