Lee Breakwater great place for those just starting out with fishing. Just drop your line off the edge of one of the several jetties or pontoons and wait for the fish to come to you.

John Dory, snapper, kahawai and trevally show up regularly and are easy enough to catch with a little patience, and there's a special jetty that had been built for kids to try their hand at catching sprats.

I’ve talked about the Lee Breakwater before as being such an awesome place to bring kids to learn how to fish. I know that’s where I had my first fishing experience so I definitely have some emotional ties to the place. Nothing beats the satisfaction of reeling your own fish in as a kid!

    By far the most popular spot to bring kids to fish, or even if you’re a beginner just starting out with the sport, Lee Breakwater is the place to come. There are several spots such as the end of the wharf, or even jet out on a boat just outside the breakwater, but the main area is the floating jetty where you can simply sink a line and wait for fish to bite. Hunting and Fishing is just round the corner so you can just scoot round to them if you need any advice!
