Well not quite my religion but what delicious treats the coffee is good too. Prices are a little high but i dont care because it is worth it...IMO you could go to a fine dining restaurant and pay through the nose only to be disappointed not here...Infact the portions are quite large so we tend to share a couple of treats. I also purchased the Recipe Book because we live a distance away but still a moment on the lips and a lifetime on the hips but it is truely worth it /
Little and Friday is funky from the minute you step out of the car. Chocolate Brioche was life changing, i had to buy the cook book so i could start making it at home and the recipe makes them just as good. The tables are funky and different, the crate's for chairs are so unique and the red animals instead of table numbers are something like nowhere else. The mint and vanilla pods in the water are completely unique and the food is really just to die for. The coffee is great and compliments the food and you can even buy takeaway cups there for next time.
What a lovely little cafe! Great coffee in old school tea ups and omg, the food is Devine! the feta and caramelized onion tart is to die for! as with the walnut cinnamon brioche! The vegetarian tart was pretty good too. I can’t wait to go back! It’s very busy so be prepared to wait if you go right in lunchtime. Best to get there around 11:30.
Their sweets are delicious, their savouries are delicious. Even the water is great! When we first drove up here we thought the directions were wrong as we headed in to suburbia, but keep on going! Little and Friday is truly located in the middle of suburbia surrounded by houses and it's just a true testament to their quality of food (and appeal) that they're successful enough even by being in an isolated location. They're generous with the fillings in their sweet stuff, and the pastry in any of their savouries is buttery and flakey. If you've only got a few things to choose from my bet is to get a cream donut, bay (leaf!) custard tart, a pie or a caramelised onion and feta tart. My lips are still smacking
As a fussy diner i sometimes find it hard to find something simple and tasty but this cafe has it all. There are amazingly delicate and full of flavour items both savory and sweet that look divine and there are also simpler items that are presented beautifully and are full of flavour yet not too much at the same time. This place suits all taste buds and is funky and vibrant all at the same time. Child friendly and fantastic, highly recommended!
You have to know about this place to find it. Located off Lake Road down a quiet residential road, this isn't the sort of place you'd likely stumble upon by chance. @Charlotte highly recommended this place to my fiancé and I so we decided to see what all the fuss was about. She wasn't kidding - this small unsuspecting cafe is very popular with a decent-sized queue. Serving a selection of quiches, pies, tarts, muffins, cakes, scones and doughnuts, it's the perfect place to stop for morning or afternoon tea. We decided to order a pumpkin, spinach and blue cheese quiche and vine tomato, mushroom and mozzarella tart. After the staff kindly reheated these in the oven (much nicer as opposed to a blast in the microwave), they were served hot as if they'd been freshly baked. The pastry was perfectly crumbly and melted in my mouth. The filling is delicious and every mouthful leaves me longing for more! We decided to treat ourselves to a raspberry cream-filled doughnut as we heard these were especially popular. A fresh tray had just arrived in the window when we got there and by the time we'd finished eating ours there was only a few left. You gotta be quick! The doughnut was crispy on the outside but doughy on the inside and dusted with just the right amount of icing sugar. The combination of the raspberries and cream is delicious and a pleasant surprise. The decor of this cafe is Martha's Kitchen meets a Melbourne laneway cafe. All the crockery, cutlery and glasses have a vintage feel to them. The saucers and cups are beautifully decorated with intricate designs, the teaspoons are collectors items and the water jugs are old glass milk bottles with a cinnamon stick and fresh mint thrown in for good measure.
