One of the most breathtaking waterfalls in New Zealand, these falls are located in Tawarau Forest. Close in distance to Waitomo Caves, the walk to these waterfalls is worth it as it is often known as the most beautiful in the country, and is surrounded by world famous attractions.

I love driving, and then hiking out to Marokopa Falls. It’s one of New Zealand’s absolute treasures and I am so blessed to have come across it. It’s free to visit so the only cost really would be your petrol to get out there. So my advice is to grab a group of mates, split up the fuel cost and that’s a less than $20 day out. Totally worth it.

    Roughly 40 minutes drive from Waitomo. Visually one of NZ’s most impressive waterfall and it’s easily accesible (7-10 min walk) so it’s not too physically demanding on a lazy Sunday.
