- 22Hukafalls JetWairakeiA 30 minute thrilling Jet Boat ride and the only ride of it's kind permitted to take you right to the very foot of the amazing Huka Falls. With over 20 years in the industry you're in safe hands and these drivers will make the jet boat do things you never thought possible.
- 31Heli Adventure FlightsWairakeiTaupo’s leading helicopter tours. Fly up the Waikato River, over the Huka Falls, even explore Mt Ruapehu. Perfect combination of excitement and the natural beauty our country has to offer with a view point you just can’t beat.
- 42Skydive Taupo LtdWharewakaProbably the ultimate in thrill-seeking experiences - chucking yourself out of a plane. What better place to do so, with incredible views of Lake Taupo, the ranges, Ruapehu and Tongariro as you fall (safely lol) towards earth.

Best pies in Tauranga
- 13Merivale BakeryTaurangaI was once a firm believer that if Bacon was inside a pie the only thing that should accompany it was Egg. After reluctantly trying a Steak, Cheese and Bacon from this place, I was converted.
- 23Patrick's PiesBethlehemWe used to immediately think of meat when a pie is mentioned, these days that’s far from the case. Their award winning combination of Stir fry vegetables, Roast Pumpkin, Potato and Kumara in Spinach Cream Sauce is enough to make even a carnivore drool. It’s become a ritual stop for me when leaving Tauranga.
- 32Gold Star BakeryTaurangaI can never eat a pie from here without making a mess, their pastry is so damn flakey but I love that. Best Pepper Steak pies with big chunks of steak and plenty of pepper grains. Too good.
- 42McDonald's Restaurant - TaurangaTauranga SouthThe new home of Georgie Pie. So admittedly they are alot more expensive than they once were and there's only one flavour but the taste is still the same. Huge fan. Plus you can enjoy free wifi while you have your pie lol bonus.
- 545Love Rosie BakeryTaurangaDescribed as 'somewhere between hipster and housewife' this place is cool but I'm always skeptical when it comes to more up-market type cafes and their pies. I have to say though, I was proven wrong. Damn these guys know how to make a good pie.

Best places to party in Hamilton
- 11The Outback InnHamilton CentralProbably Hamilton's most popular nightclub, it's huge and was once NZ's largest bar before they divided it into 3 separate sections. Has a capacity of 1600. Top 40/Dance music.
- 21The HoodHamilton CentralA Hip Hop/RnB club which has moved from it’s original location on Hood Street to the popular Victoria Street. Have never been here on a night that it wasn’t jam packed. Biggest night is a Thursday.
- 31Bar 101Hamilton CentralPopular with the local students which means great drink specials and rowdy uni students but nonetheless a good time. Definitely NOT somewhere to go if you're looking for a quiet drink lol.
- 41Hood Street StudioHamilton CentralTook over the original ‘Hood’ building after it moved to Victoria Street. Love the look of this place dope murals and rustic brick walls. Great atmosphere and the premium venue when live Hip Hop/ RnB acts come to town.
- 51CubbyholeHamilton CentralCatering to an older crowd 25+ and the perfect spot if you love to party but not into places dominated by mass amounts of raging teens. Dance all night long to those old classics mixed with the new top40 stuff.

Best Steak
- 12Smith & McKenzie ChophouseChartwellFamous for it's signature steak - a monster 500g tender aged prime rib. That's 4 days worth of your recommended protein intake in one sitting lol. Expensive menu but well worth it.
- 29ImbibeMount MaunganuiHave eaten here so many times and never disappointed. Service is next to none and their Steak is top notch, they do a 200g prime NZ steak which is perfect is you're not keen on being in a food coma after dinner, just right.
- 31Billy Burkes Irish BarTaradaleA steakhouse with an Irish twist. Go for the ‘Steak Topper’ - Scotch fillet with crispy bacon and mushroom sauce. Too good.
- 44Cobb & Co WhakataneWhakataneOne of the few Cobb & Co’s left in the country. Always nostalgic eating here and still remember going to our local franchise when we were young for every birthday dinner or special occasion. Big Boy 400g rump for the win.

It's Sunday
- 12Marokopa FallsWaitomoRoughly 40 minutes drive from Waitomo. Visually one of NZ’s most impressive waterfall and it’s easily accesible (7-10 min walk) so it’s not too physically demanding on a lazy Sunday.
- 26Hoyts Te AwaTe RapaThis place is monster. Located in Hamilton's new state of the art multiplex and home of NZ's largest screen (26 metres wide). Luxury seating and in-theatre dining. They also offer D-Box, where the seats move in sync with the action. Next level viewing.
- 31Cape KidnappersNapier CentralGood spot for a day-trip. Home to the world’s largest gannet colony which you can get within feet of. If you’re a golfer, the local course is ranked in the Top 50 in the world.
- 46Waikato MuseumHamilton CentralHome of the impressive and very majestic aka 'Te Winika' which you have to check out. Good place to take the kids with fun hands-on science galleries for them and the best part is it's free.

Best brunches
- 12UrbanoGlenholmeLocated on Rotorua's "Motel Mile" this is a go-to spot for us when in town being so close to our accommodation. The 'Urbano Hobo' is what I go for, love how they use chorizo in place of the usual plain sausages. So good!
- 23The BakehouseHamilton CentralNot for the faint hearted. Imagine two big juicy lamb chops, a pile of chunky chips and 2 runny eggs to top off. This is man-food at it's finest.
- 34Mozaik Cafe HamiltonTe RapaThose who know me know that my local spot is Mozaik in New Lynn so it was only right that I tried the latest addition to their family in Hamilton. I know they're a franchise but don't let that deter you. The Chicken and Prawn salad with Kumara chips is my pick off the menu, the curry dressing is so good. I've tried so many times to replicate it at home but it's never the same.
- 410Phil's Place RestaurantTaurangaOwned by Phil Rudd, Drummer for ACDC. How cool is that?! Last summer I did a show in Tauranga and the following day we were taken there for lunch. Right on the Marina, the food is amazing. A must for all rock fans just to say you've eaten there.
