The Moeraki Boulders are strewn across Koekohe Beach on New Zealand's scenic Otago Coast. These interesting spherical stones span up to 4 metres and were buried until coastal erosion exposed them for the world to see.

Formed in ancient sea floor sediments around 60 million years ago these fascinating natural wonders are one of Southland's most popular attractions.

The Moeraki Boulders is a place I love to stop whenever I’m heading south. The stones are huge at 3-4 metres round and the area is great for walking and exploring the wild coast. A fun winter activity if you’re on a date or taking the whole family.
