No one can make cookies like Ma Higgins can. It’s a strong-willed person – or one without a sense of smell - who can walk past their Lambton Quay shop without at least slowing down, but when it’s comfort food you’re after, their three-cookie deal is hard to beat. The smell of Mrs Higgins always beats me when I'm passing through Lambton Quay. I just can't resist. They say they're just like Grandma used to bake but my nana, for all her greatness, never made cookies that good.
