If you’re visiting Canterbury in winter then you must head to Mt Hutt Skifield. This is a great place if you’re a seasoned pro or just learning to ski or snowboard. If the exercise all gets a bit much for you then never fear, there’s a great restaurant to hang in!

A ski field with amazing views, Mt Hutt is another family activity which is worth a try. The laidback vibe here is all about safety and learning to ski the right way, so if you’re kids are just learning, head to Mt Hutt this winter.

Definitely the South Island's go-to skifield, Mt Hutt, really does have great snow runs for everyone, from the new beginner through to advanced. It's family friendly and has great lessons taught by helpful instructors for every level, so no matter your experience you will be up on your feet and enjoying yourself in no time. It also has excellent black runs for the more advanced snowboarders and skiers, and of course the views are out of this world. The perfect place for your winter holiday.

For kids with bundles of energy and who love the cold, then Mt Hutt has them covered. The ski field’s Snow Sports School has programmes for kids from three months of age (that does sound a little crazy!) through to the older kids in their mid teens. Sign up to their School Holiday Programme today!
