fine food and dining experience at mudbrick resturant

One of the most beautiful dining settings in the country, Mudbrick has a lot to offer! The food is exquisite. Unusual combinations, flavours you don’t usually get to try and all of it presented beautifully, the ever evolving menu will make choosing from all the incredible sounding options very difficult! The restaurant is pricey, but the wine is excellent and they do have a good range of prices for that. Wine tastings are not very expensive either and you get to try a broad range while having them talked through with you by one of the wine-passionate and super friendly sommeliers. I would recommend ordering bread to go with the wine tasting. It comes with olive oil and chopped fresh rosemary. It is really yummy and will be delivered to the tasting room for you. They are really helpful with any vegetarian queries too. My brother got married there (well civil partnership, technically) and they were so helpful. They gave endless options and nothing was a problem or hassle. They recommended a great DJ, photographer and cake-maker, all of which were great options. And the vegetarian options for the wedding were superb. I had no cause to be jealous of the thought put into the non-vege cuisine, as my food was amazing! The views over picturesque Waiheke Island are truly breath-taking. I always leave Mudbrick feeling relaxed, treated and like an absolute lush! Lovely.

Mudbrick is quite possibly the most beautiful vineyard on Waiheke - it's easy to see why so many choose to have weddings here. Exquisite views of Auckland, great wine and food, and friendly tour guides. Go in summer and soak up the sunshine and the view.

Hop on the ferry and make your way to Waiheke island where you can go on the famous Waiheke wine tour. Mudbrick winery is hands down my favourite. The location, set-up, wines and food is simply divine. Perfect place to have a wedding too!

Mudbrick quite rightly deserves its great reputation.  It's often hard to get a table here, especially in the weekends, as it's such a popular spot.  We've had the privilege of attending a wedding here, as well as dining here for special occasions as a couple.  Each time, it has been superb.  The location can't be beat.  It has beautiful views and it's lovely to have a stroll around the place before dinner.  The food is also great.  In fact, writing this has made me want to plan another visit some time soon.

Waiheke's Mudbrick Vineyard & Restaurant has one of the island's most spectacular views back to Auckland City, and is only a few minutes from where the ferry docks at Matiatia Wharf. The on site restaurant does lean towards the pricier end of the spectrum, but a tasting at the cellar door will set you back only $5.00 for eight wines, and there are more than enough spots around their carefully maintained gardens to sit back and take in the surroundings.

Yummy though , very yummy ,bit loud service by style .I would say . But not many actually dressed formally , bit like a normal restuarant style . Try hard try again some time .

I had the pleasure of another visit to this winery and restaurant with friends who were visiting from the UK last week. The walk from the main town is not too far, so no need to drink and drive as you can catch the bus from the ferry to the main town. We also stopped at Cable Bay Vineyard on route to break up the stroll. Mudbrick vineyard boasts a beautiful building set among vineyards and lovely gardens. We had arrived hungry but also keen to do a tasting so we asked if we could sit in the wine bar garden to eat some snacks whilst popping in and out of the cellar for our next round of tasting glasses. The wine bar staff kindly accommodated our request. The man explaining each wine to me to pass on to my friends outside was obviously very knowledgeable and enjoyed his job, as would I! Tasting wines seems like a good job especially as you'd have to taste lots of wine in the first place to get good at it! We each accompanied our tasting with something small off the bar menu which included the soup of the day (mushroom) and two portions of calamari, plus fries. Everything was beautifully presented and the calamari which I had was surprisingly filling and very delicious. My only negative comments would be that the waitress forgot to bring the water we asked for and the calamari was served with tomato sauce and sweet chilli sauce, when the menu clearly stated it should have been alioli instead of tomato sauce, which did not compliment the calamari at all. On enquiring whether they had run out of alioli, I was informed they had not and was brought some straight away, so this must have been plating error?

Love Mudbrick, been there several times now and each time they do not fail to impress. Presentation, food, views, wine and service are always perfectly satisfying.

This was the venue for a friend's wedding last weekend and the perfect location for any special event, lunch with friends or a Saturday afternoon drink. With gorgeous views out over the harbour towards Auckland, this tranquil garden and vineyard setting and Mudbrick's European-style design will capture your heart immediately. I think it actually surpassed the vineyards I visited in San Francisco last year and shows Auckland at its best.
