Pizza by the metre, what a genius idea! Great for a group (or a sleepover!), a metre of pizza will stuff four people for sure! You can get a half metre too. My favourite is the Boscaiola, which has champignon mushrooms, mozzarella, baby spinach, roasted pine nuts, cream, parmesan and truffle oil!!!!! Dear god so good!

Good for a girl’s night out, Gina’s do a huge range of tasty pizzas! If you ask to book on the right night, the waiters serve topless too! Lol. Packed with yummy Italian flavours and served in a nice restaurant setting with lots of options to suit all tastes!

Tasty, filling, hearty pizzas served with the beautiful view over the viaduct harbour to go with them! Prices are really reasonable for food and drinks. Lovely summery setting.

Fresh, healthy Chinese fusion takeaways without all that grease. Perfect if you’re in the mood for Chinese, but don’t want a tummy ache after! I love the vegetarian noodle stirfry sprinkled with lots of chopped up peanuts, so good! Comes in the cutest New York style Chinese takeaway boxes too!

Huge, hearty burgers at super sweet prices! I like the vegetarian burger, with a vege patty plus an egg and pineapple! They also do really good kumara chips and fritters, plus toasties and a huge variety of meaty burgers. The burgers are huge and are about seven bucks. Amaze.

I highly recommend the vegetarian tofu donburi from the Japanese place here. Their sushi is also really good. Or, even healthier is the vegetarian tom yum soup from the Thai place. So flavoursome and extremely low calorie, it is full of vegetables, chilli, ginger, lemongrass and tofu.

One of my most long-standing fave takeaways. When I lived in England, Burger Fuel was one of the first things I would get when I’d come back to NZ for a holiday. So good. They do quite a good chickpea burger, but my all-time favourite is the combustion tofu, which comes with avocado and satay sauce. I love the kumara chips with aioli too. Oooh! And they do really good little icecreams too! If you can handle that much!!

One of my favourite stores from the UK, Topshop consistently delivers great design and well fitting clothing. So up with the play for street fashion, they are experts at what is both cool AND wearable.

Amazing massage chairs, great service and good prices. They do shellac nails, which will last for a good few weeks without chipping! You get a footspa before you manicure and they have a great selection of nail polish colours and magazines to read!

So far, this is the only hairdressers I have found in Auckland that I can really rely on. Multiple times I have just gone with whoever was available to cut my hair there and they have always done a great job. Couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Great little salon with lots of options of what you can get done. I have had waxing, facials, eyelash/brow shaping+tinting and spray tan from here and everything has been great. Madeline always remembers me and I love that personal touch. Excellent beauty salon!

Great place to buy good quality make-up, as you have lots of options, with all the main cosmetic brand counters all in one place. They also have a lot of staff to help you choose. MAC offer a great service, where you can go and get you make-up done (starting at $50), but you can then redeem the full cost of the make-over in product, so you basically buy $50+ worth of product and get your make-up done for free! You can learn a lot and ask questions from the make-up artist too, which is really handy.

One of the best new places to hit the North Shore in recent years! Farro changed my life. :P It is big, a small supermarket! They have lots of specialist ingredients, amazing cheeses and loads of different flavours of macroons, which are my favourite thing in the world. They do amazing bung in the oven mini quiches and croissants and things too, which are really, really good!

I think the prices at Nosh are surprisingly reasonable for everyday things, given how good the quality is and that a lot of the fresh produce is organic too. If you want to buy a nice cheese, or olive oil or wine, it’s actually pretty sweet to go here and get the other groceries you want too and get the lot in one place! So many delicious treats in here!

Sabato is a long-standing institution for Auckland foodies! And with good reason! They have a great selection of specialist pastas, cheeses and cooking ingredients, like saffron and squid ink and truffle. Always have tasters on offer to sweeten your visit and the staff are really friendly!

Super convenient spot to get really good quality fresh produce in the middle of Ponsonby. Plus they have lots of semi-gourmet goodies too! Great cheeses, wines, bread, pesto, tapenade, etc. They also sell a beautiful range of fresh flowers.

This place is ideal if you want to prepare something special or festive or moreishly delicious that’s gluten free! Great if you want to treat someone that can’t have gluten. They will feel positively spoilt! They also sell a great range of ingredients for making your own gluten free treats!

Really yummy range of flavours, with plenty of authentic Laos dishes and a few Thai options too. Ground peanuts, fresh ginger, and garlic a plenty. They do great tofu for any vegetarians. My sister is a carnivore though and she goes on and on about their LARB, which I am assured is amazing - I just like it cos it’s fun to say. :P

You have to possess the strength to resist the pies if you go into this place for a healthy option, but I assure you, if you get one of their salad boxes, you will NOT be disappointed! They are so tasty and full of lots of yummy ingredients, like grated beetroot, fennel, a bit of feta cheese, quinoa, all sorts! And they are very well priced for how filling they are; I have a good appetite, but one box often lasts me for lunch and then as a side with dinner too!

This is the best place for vegetarians to go for sushi! They have sooooo many options! More than I have seen anywhere else. Sushi with tempura vegetables, sushi with teriyaki tofu, with vegetables, with egg, with avocado….. Plus all the classics. Great miso soup too! :D

This is such a lovely cinema. It is huge, there are loads of cinema screens and each screen is massive! Having lots of screens means there are loads of options of what movies you can see at any one time, as well as lots of options of screening times for any given film. The big screens really make the movie-going-experience. If you book online, you can pre-order any treats and snacks to just pick up the lot together with your tickets. It is also part of the Westfield Mall complex, so you can buy anything from the supermarket, the food court or any of the bars and restaurants that line the mall. I just went and saw the new Star Trek film there and it was AWESOME!

Really nice relaxing vibe at this cafe. If you are a little the worse for ware on a Sunday, I recommend the boiled egg with five grain toast soldiers! Nice and gentle for your tummy! I love that their breakfasts come on bread boards and everything comes with lots of real butter. Yum!

Inside, sheltered from any potential bad weather, all sorts of beautiful and fragrant plants and flowers bloom inside this ornate glasshouse. The glasshouse is gorgeous and has a king of art deco look to it, with its high curved ceiling. Inside, there are several areas, including a central courtyard with ponds of bright goldfish and Grecian statues. There is also a fernery, which is really relaxing to walk through. Entry is free! Bonus! And if the weather is nice, you have the rest of the Domain to stroll through. Bring some bread and you can feed the birds at the pond. A couple of nice cafes throughout and of course Auckland Museum, which is free to Auckland residents (bring a local library card or a bill with an Auckland address as proof). Lots of options! It is a little breath of fresh air in the middle of the city; lovely to walk through!

Def the best thing to come out of the Rugby World Cup in my opinion! This is a lovely place to walk around and has events on frequently! Throughout the summer, they do screenings of films, which you can watch outdoors from the park. Everyone brings blankets, rugs, pillows, picnics and wine and gets cosy. The first one I went to was on a date! It was such a perfect date activity. We snuggled and drank wine and watched The Labyrinth! Other times I have gone with groups of friends, as pictured. They have sweet night markets with great food stands. The Mexikai truck has been frequenting there recently, which I have been very pleased about! The playground is really good. Lots of fun things, all in meticulous nautical theme, for kids and adults alike to play on. There is a really pretty water feature with an installation sculpture hovering over, which I like too. Also, you occasionally get to see a drunk person fall in it!  :/ Located right next to the string of great restaurants and bars along the Wynyard Quarter, you can always pop in somewhere for a meal or a drink too. The cinema screenings were free and I would like to thank Silo Park for putting them on! One of the highlights of my summer!
