Museum Hotel

More than just a hotel -staying or dining here is an experience! Every wall in the Museum Hotel is elaborately covered in the most wonderful art. Your own room is bound to have amazing feature pieces you'll be dying to take home. The restaurant here, though, is my favourite part! As you arrive, you are instantly transported to Alice in Wonderland. Stuffed peacocks, wondrous furniture and detailed decor makes this an out-of-this-world experience! I would recommend coming for cocktails or a high tea, both offering elaborate menus of unique flavours.

With its waterfront location across the road from Te Papa, the Museum Hotel is one of Wellington’s premier accommodation options, and a great choice for a getaway splurge. A privately-owned luxury boutique hotel, it’s also home to the Hippopotamus Restaurant and Bar, one of the best places to eat and drink in the city.

The Museum Hotel is very conveniently located close to Te Papa, lots of restaurants, supermarkets etc.  It's a really lovely place to stay.  We stayed in a one room apartment and it was stylish and practical.  It came equipped with a kitchen and a washing machine/dryer.  The bath is amazing - huge and luxurious.  The spa pool was also highly enjoyed by our children.  If you're looking for somewhere enjoyable to stay in Wellington, the Museum Hotel gets our vote!

Luxury is what you’ll experience when you stay at the Museum Hotel. It’s a great place to stay for a decadent holiday or a dirty one nighter. Also, if you want to be impressed by a toilet, check out the loos on the groundfloor.
