It's not my favorite in Kingsland but the locals love it. Very popular spot on a sunny Thurs/Fri/Sat/Sun. I've been disappointed multiple times by the food here but the service is always good as is the beer, but i dont really recommend spending too much time/money on the menu. I've tried a LOT of it as well as for some reason, friends always want to meet here. Nice environment, nab a seat in the sun outside if you can .
I prefer my bar experience quite mellow and so I then seek out bars at times when there are not one million other people all trying to get a drink at the same time. Neighbourhood is great in the late afternoon/early evening - calm and sophisticated. Later on it gets much busier and noisier - though the courtyard is less so than inside. The staff are well trained and friendly and the only thing I would ask for is a bowl of chips to be put on the menu!!
This review is going to be ever so slightly biased because the peeps who work here are my homeslices! But Neighbourhood was a class establishment before I knew them and I'm sure you'll agree. This place truly has a local feel to it, with people who will remember your face and - even if they don't - will strike up a conversation anyway. Great service, good beer, beer battered Terekihi (yeah!), comfy couches and the live music on Sunday is always littered with decently covered Eric Clapton. It's basically like having a BBQ with the family, except in a much nicer house, and upside-down lamps. (I love upside-down lamp)
Went and checked out Neighbourhood brewbar for a friends birthday drinks last night and absolutely loved the feel of the place. Tried the stolen rum and cider cocktail which was delicious and very reasonable. Ordered a couple of pizzas also which were extremely tasty. Would definitely head back to Neighbourhood brewbar as it was a great atmosphere with very friendly bar staff.
