Nikau cafe finds perfection in the simplicity. Focusing on seasonal, organic and regional food, whether it is a simple radicchio and Gorgonzola salad or their infamous Kedgeree, you know Kelda's dishes will be fresh and delicious. Their crowning glory however, must be their sage fried eggs. A level above your standard brunch fare, it is one of those dishes you'll be dreaming of days later. Paul, who mans the front of house, and his bearded smile welcomes you with the same hospitality he would if he was inviting you into his very own dining room.

Great menu for lunch and breakfast. Well worth a visit if your In town!

Nikau is a hidden gem, tucked in beside the city gallery. The food is fantastic - I recommend the kedgeree or pancakes - the staff are friendly and, critically, the coffee is good.

Nikau is a great place for breakfast. As well as their standout kedgeree and pancakes, they also make a yummy muesli - this week's was served with lightly poached orange slices and Zany Zeus' creamy yoghurt. Delicious!

Nikau is the best cafe in Wellington! Great coffee and delicious dishes which focus on local, seasonal ingredients. They also have a mean cake counter and make the best cheese scones in the country. Their kedgeree is a perennial favourite, with chunks of delicious smoked fish, grated boiled egg and lightly curried rice. The pancakes are also exceptional- light and fluffy served with honey butter and apple syrup. Always the first choice for breakfast, brunch or lunch.
