This is my go to nursery for native plants. Nikau Gardens is locally owned by Hugh Griffin, who started the business back in the 90s. Most of the plants are propagated on site so they are acclimatised to the local climate, and always do super well in my garden. Best of all Hugh will deliver the plants and offers a plant placement service.

I'm just planting up my garden now the rain's arrived, and I love native plants. Hugh at Nikau Gardens has a great selection of well grown plants suited to the Nelson region, plus he can advise on what will do well in your conditions. I'm getting him to come and look at my garden and work out a plant placement scheme so that when I'm ready to plant, I'll have a plan for what goes where.

Nikau Gardens is one of Nelson's oldest Native Plant nurseries, and the place to go if you want locally grown quality native plants for your garden. The owner, Hugh Griffin, has been running Nikau Gardens since the 1980s, and knows his native plants. He'll advise you on what species to grow in your location and on plant placement, and has a wonderful range of plants that you won't find anywhere else. Nikau Gardens is open Tuesday - Saturday, located at 411 Nayland Road, Stoke.
