Happy Beekeeping Honey

Fresh local and sprayfree food

A favourite Saturday morning out for me and the hubby is to head over the hills and into Oratia for this world-class rural farmers market. Many of the stallholders are veterans and have been coming here for as many years as we have. It's an excellent meeting place for a Saturday morning brunch on the go for friends and family. And I swear by the free-range meats and fresh produce - it's the only place I buy my vegetable seedlings each season because they are reasonably priced and many heirloom varieties are available.

A lovely little spot for a farmers market- Oratia is such a lovely area if you are out west for the day.

Have a great range of fresh produce. Kids love going there...Use to be walking distance from home.

We often come here on a Saturday, the produce is great and much better quality than the usual supermarket offering.  One point though - do not bother with the coffee at the market - there is an awesome cafe on site - The Packing Shed Cafe - which is so much better!  The food is great and plentiful, with most made on site. My wife asked for a vegetarian Nachos, (this is not on the menu) but this was made especially for her and was delicious.  Even the salad garnish was delicious, not the usual tired leaf on the side!! The coffee is the best in the area, the staff are switched on and the cakes are plentiful - what more could you ask?! Try it!!

They have a nice lil fence with dog lead catches, so you can hook your doggy up to meet other dogs whilst you peruse the local market.

Great market with a wide variety of produce

Awesome markets, on Sundays
