At Our BackYard Pub their motto is good beer, good food and good times.
Their beverage list includes favourites on tap such as Speight’s Gold Medal, Speight’s Distinction, and Speight’s Cider. They also offer over 20 different beers by the bottle.
The chef has put together a menu that focuses on great Kiwi food, like the delicious steak sandwich. Richie and his team look forward to hosting you at Our BackYard Pub.

Besides the foodie strip of Tutanekai Street, which is inconveniently far from the cinema, it seems another dining area is forming on Eruera Street, conveniently swarming around Readings Cinema. Our Backyard Pub is sandwiched between the aforementioned Bistro 1284 and Chimney Indian, so you are spoilt for choice in this area. The interior of the pub is very quirky, with a good rustic vibe with the interior and the food. Gourmet pub meals at their finest.
A classic, quality Kiwi pub, and with a name like this no surprises there… well, except for the amazing food! The best tip I can offer for this place is take advantage of the $12 lunch menu and score yourself a sweet spot on the secluded, leafy outdoor deck. Even if you miss the lunch specials they offer light meals throughout the day starting at only $8 through to full evening meals from $15-$25. I’ve eaten here many times and I always go back to my two favourites, the Pork Belly or the good, old classic Fish & Chips.
