If you're in the area, just go to Cossett - much better food, coffee and atmosphere. And organic! Coffee and scone was OK. Didn't seem to use any organic ingredients. The waitress was super friendly but I guess the lady who was the boss wasn't. I was working an a document on my computer and she just presumed that I was using their internet and told me that the internet time was limited to 1 hour. I felt very unwelcome if I can't go there to do some work. It also seemed a bit stingy. But that's also the impression that they left on me as they didn't close the cafe for the day after their window had been broken into over night. So while the glass workers were getting out the entire window, which was a bit noisy and drafty, they continued their normal service.
Parkside is now open for dinners thurs, Fri and Sat nights. Serving up authentic Vietnamise food. My favourite dishes are; Chicken Curry - really nice and spicy, Beef Vermicelli Salad (this is also on the lunch menu) and the Shaking Beef. My husband loved the beef casserole, but I didn’t get to try that one!!
Good cafe just around the corner. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Good mixture of food. Very delicious Chicken and Leek Pies with the most amazing pastry. We can't stop going back for more! Also enjoyed the Vietnamese Beef Salad. And they stock Phoenix Cola -Yum! Nice place to stop on the way to or home from Rocket Park. There's a few outdoor tables so can take the dog too.
Formerly occupied by a Chinese, then Indian restaurant, this site has finally found the ideal business - a cafe. Given all the families which enjoy Rocket Park next door and the lack of seating or cooked meals at the Pyrenees deli across the road I always thought it would be better suited as a cafe. They use Allpress coffee which is expertly prepared by the baristas and have a good selection of cooked meals and cabinet food. The focus seems to be on fresh, seasonal ingredients, and you can really taste it in what's served up. There are plenty of seating options so you can come here alone or with a huge group and just put the tables together, and the staff are always very friendly. For families, combine this with a visit to the awesome playground next door, and you've got yourself a great morning/afternoon outing.
