Parua Bay Tavern

Here’s a place that I love to LOVE whenever I get the chance. When talking about drinks with a view, it doesn’t get much better than this little gem of Whangarei Heads. With recent new ownership and a really great spruce up, the outdoor set up outback that looks out over the harbor has really stepped it up a notch. I love coming here with mates and ordering a nice tall beverage and a burger to suit.

If your heading out to Whangarei Heads then stopping in here is a given. It’s so good to sit out back and enjoy the epic view with a rustic pizza and beverage. You wouldn’t believe it but the place is over 100 years old! The recent renovation has done wonders. I love coming here to watch the cricket during the summer, shoot some pool with my buddies and have a good old feed. I recommend the seafood chowder!

Set in Whangarei Heads Parua Bay Tavern is a great place to go if you want to breath in the fresh salt air while watching the boys in black bring the trophy home. They’ve got a great menu with something to please everyone, I love the seafood chowder and garlic bread - yum! There is also a TAB machine, two pool tables and four pokies if that’s your jam.
