Ponsonby Social Club

Went there twice and it was so packed, it is nicer and you can actually breath in the entrance / out side bit. It is really hot and dark inside.The barstaff is nice but always so busy, you have to wait a while. The music is okay,but always Rnb and charts, which is okay but not all the time, some alternative music would be nice.

I quite like the atmosphere and music of the Ponsonby Social Club. I've been there before when it was packed and everybody was dancing to very cool old-school tunes, but usually it seems to be more the place to get a drink and catch up with friends - which it is really ideal for.

Quite often I will head up to PSC for a casual wine with colleagues after work. We all love it there as we can grab a table outside (under heaters if it's cold) so both the smokers  and non--smokers are happy.  There is a great, chilled out vibe here where everyone is welcome and there to just enjoy themselves. At night they have great dance music and make a really good G'N'T!

As i have recently moved into the Ponsonby area, we needed a new local. Ponsonby Social Club has filled that spot nicely. Great atmosphere with a nice long court yard that leads into the bar. We've been to PSC on a couple different nights throughout the week and it is always a pleasure. They often have live bands or special gigs. Maybe could do with a bit more air conditioning inside as it heats up pretty quick inside due to it's size. Definitely worth checking out though! 

The Shoosh team came to Ponsonby Social Club for our mid winter christmas drinks and we had a great time. Had a great atmosphere and we all had an great night!

I had a great time at the PSC the other night.  I love the atmosphere! The live jazz band was on point just wish I could have stayed longer.  The room is quite narrow and there isn't much seating close to the band so  make sure you get there early.  

Have only been to PSC a few times. When it first started it was the "IT" place to go. Now the crowds have kinda moved on to The Longroom, followed by Golden Dawn. Still, it's an interesting bar with a long courtyard perfect for smokers. The interior space is a bit cramp and probably not the best place if you have a massive troop to entertain. 

Think RSA but take away Sky Sport.  Musicians and DJ's entertain six nights a week.  Food is good and they know how to make a cocktail

This is a great bar on Ponsonby road right amongst the cluster of happening bars. They've done a clever thing with the front courtyard which makes this a great place to drink beers on a summer evening.

Classy! I pop in on weds for circling sun band. Recommend!
