Princes Gate Hotel

This is one of Rotorua’s most quirky and historical hotels. It’s situated at the gates to the Government Gardens (which by the way is the perfect place for a romantic walk). If you already live in Rotorua and don’t want to stay, the hotel is actually more popular for it’s "dinner and show". They have various performers visit their landmark ballroom and have a regular cabaret/dinner night. The perfect night out.

This historical wooden hotel from 1897 is packed with charm and cuteness! Stepping inside is like entering a time machine. The facade and interior is still original and has not been bastardised over the years, which can't be said for many of the other historical building in Rotorua that we lost in the 90s tourist boom. This place is located right next to the entrance to the government gardens in the central city. A great place to stay, or reccommend to your visitors.

The Signature High Tea at the Princes Gate Hotel is an elegant and memorable experience. Set in the lovingly-restored heritage hotel, the High Tea includes an array of petite sandwiches, little cakes and scones. Spring for the Champagne High Tea to enjoy a glass of bubbles.
