Takapuna Beach is best enjoyed with a glass of wine and some fresh fish. Regatta sits at a perfect sunset-watching distance from the beach. The open kitchen at Regatta brings excitement to the restaurant, giving you a peep into how they make you're squid extra crispy! The stripey clad waitresses are always ready to help, armed with specials to make you drool. A little pricey, Regatta is a lovely place to go to celebrate something or for a cold beer on the outdoor cabanas. If you're treating yourself to a desert -I recommend the creme brûlée!

On the tail end of a day out on the motorbike, we were itching for a cold drink and a light snack. We had heard good things about Regatta so thought we would give it a try. They were having an event but were still happy to accommodate us and even with a limited menu, there was a good selection of snacks. I tried the Schezwan calamari, which was perfectly spiced with a yummy sauce. I topped it off with possibly the best boysenberry cider I have ever had.

I went to Regatta for the first time on the weekend and was very impressed. Situated right in front of Takapuna beach, this restaurant offers stunning views of Rangitoto Island. The wait staff were very friendly and helpful, and the Free Range Pork Belly was deliciously tender!

Regatta is a stunning nautical-themed restaurant that opened this past summer right opposite Takapuna beach and is exactly the kind of place the suburb has been missing for years. It has gorgeous views of the sea across to Rangitoto and and is appropriately located right near Takapuna's boat club. But the main reason people go to Regatta is for the fresh off the boat seafood of which they have a fantastic selection. Fish is served either pan-fried, wood-fired or roasted with a range of delicious sides and salads. If you're after the authentic beach experience then order the fish and chips which you can have beer-battered or crumbed, either way you won't be disappointed.

Got a visitor from out of town that you want to show off Auckland at its best to? That's when I take them to Regatta. Good booze, excellent food, great service and an even better view - you look bang smack out onto Rangitoto Island and the sparkling water below. You can't get much better than this in terms of location. It's the place to see and be seen right now so dress well and get imbibing!

Stunning location, talented staff and beautiful food! Highly recommended to all.

I went here 3 days after opening, usually after somewhere opens it takes a while for their service to match their food. This place, is an exception. Liana was our server and she was EXCEPTIONAL. I have never had such fantastic service anywhere in New Zealand, I would return, just for her. HOWEVER, the manager who was very clearly not on duty the day I was there, was happily walking behind the bar and kitchen with a baby in his arms in only a nappy (Health & Safety Much? What if some food splattered on it's wee legs!) & he proceeded to yell, loudly, in front of customers, at one of the servers. I was less than impressed, however the above and beyond service I recieved from Liana, will be enough for me to return again. Food was fantastic, as were the bar staff.
