Bequethed with huge generosity by the late Roland Sansom in 1998, the eponymous wood is a wooded park and dog exercise area for the local community.

The four hectare woodland is always blooming with some amazing flower and is particularly popular in spring, when the bluebells blossom.

Roland’s Wood is the ultimate spot for dogs as it was literally created for man’s best friend. It’s a sprawling off-leash area with an incredible carpet of flowers that bloom in spring. You can take your pup and let them run free to make friends with all the other dogs there. They love it!

Roland's Wood was literally made for walking your dog - how cool is that!? Normally there are lots of restriction for man's best friend but not this place. The glade is purposely planted with English trees and under planted with vibrant daffodils and blue bells that burst with colour in Spring. The story goes the guy who planted it - Roland Sansom - gifted 10 acres of the land to the people of Kerikeri with the particular wish that people enjoy it with their dogs. Enjoy honouring his wish!
