The Routeburn Track passes through two national parks, Fiordland and Mount Aspiring, and is part of Te Wahipounam.
The area is a haven for native birdlife: the Robin; Fantail; Parakeet; Bellbird; Yellowhead and watch out for the resident Kea at Routeburn Falls. The variety of landscapes will astound you: mountainous peaks; sheer rock faces; alpine basins; pristine lakes; cascading waterfalls; luxuriant forest; turquoise rivers and million dollar views around every corner.
The Routeburn Track is excellent for day trips as well as multi-day tramps, which is great for families or those with less time. You can walk this track in either direction and it's easy to arrange transport for each track end. While the Routeburn Track maybe a shorter multi-day hike, it has some of the biggest scenery. For those who want to stay longer, they have package deals including accommodation, there are four public huts and two campsites on the track, as well as two private lodges.
There are many activities you can enjoy on the Routeburn Track as well as day walking or tramping. Walking in the outdoors is fun, healthy activity for the whole family.

The Routeburn track was an awesome experience and one I will never forget. We did a day trip and the track was amazing, the scenery, the wildlife was all beautiful & stunning. We aren't fit people but we wanted to try something that was out of our comfort zone. There are so much activities you can enjoy while here and also they have deals where you can stay longer.
