Salisbury wharf is located at the port end of the picturesque Pilot Bay which lies on the western side of Mount Maunganui. Situated at the end of Salisbury Avenue with plenty of parking available, the wharf is a popular fishing spot, with families often seen dangling fishing lines in the hope of catching kingfish and travelly.

Also a favourite departure point for cruise ships and fishing charters, there is a small dairy located on the wharf if you fancy an ice cream, along with plenty of hotels, motels, cafes, restaurants and some fabulous beaches nearby.

This is a great spot in Mount Maunganui to take kids fishing for Spotty or Kahawai. Use a handline or rod, or cast out into the channel - just keep an eye out for the pilot boat guiding big ships into port!
