Schnappa Rock is an awesome winter date restaurant. While having great views of the harbour they know how to snuggle things up for winter. You can enjoy their super fresh kaimoana [seafood] next to heaters while looking out at the ocean, or you can tuck into something a bit more hearty like their pork belly with kumara miso puree and greens in their cosy indoor area.

They offer an idyllic setting where you can stare at the ocean during the day or eat mesmerized by fairy lights at night. Their food is bountiful and so fresh, they try and get most of it from the garden! Bring your date here for a relaxed, intimate evening - they’ll love you for it.

Hearty meals in abundance here – try the slow-cooked beef or pork belly, or if you’re after something smaller the mussel, leek and potato chowder will see you right. Finish with the sticky date pudding and your belly will thank you. You can take additional comfort knowing this establishment takes every effort to source sustainably produced ingredients.

Sophisticated-cool dining at its best. The service is friendly, the food is excellent, and the emphasis on free-range eggs and pork is especially pleasing - but I find it hard to pass over those creamy mushrooms any day of the week.
