Soul Bar & Bistro is one of those establishments that feels like it has been around forever, and it pretty much has. It was one of the early spots to open on Viaduct Harbour and is still one if the best, with great bar staff, table service and cuisine. It also makes for great people spotting on a sunny afternoon, so if you have visitors with you from out of town it will never disappoint.
The highlight of any meal, the dessert. Seriously one of the best chocolate puddings I've ever had, trust me: when you taste the velvelty, rich chocolate your soul will be taken. It wasn't sickeningly sweet at all it had depth and layers of flavour so indescribable, the only sound you can make is "MMMMM" . If I ever was to return here I would order this just to have my soul dance around in chocolate heaven again.
Attended a booked work lunch at this restaurant on a week day. First impressions, it presented well, hanging baskets over the tables looked quaint however once seated we noticed diners scooping petals out of their wine glasses, so perhaps not too practical. We were told to order promptly as there were 120 persons booked for lunch, though our meals took a little while to arrive. On a positive note the salt n pepper squid was yummy and it was nice to overlook the boats on a sunny afternoon.
Me and my partner were planning a family night out in the City cause we were all going through a bit of a rough patch, so we drove around one day and walked along the Viaduct Harbour and found this place and the minute we saw it we knew exacly what eachother were thinking so we ended up having a few drinks with the family and they really enjoyed it there it really made there night which made our night to, and will defantly do it again some time
