What they do is fantastic. Its a real challenge especially as they get little to no govt help. The Auckland shelter is well worth a visit- even just for a look. If ever we need to get another pet, we will be going here first. They have lots of volunteers who keep the place looking great too. Highly recommend supporting them, their wider work or adopting a pet from them.
We went to the SPCA for the first time when they had the promotion on for half price kittens (and all animals actually, I think!) and WOW!!! What a turn out! We had to line up just for a park! How fabulous to see such a great response. The response was so good and we were too late that we left empty handed- our kitten quest will have to be reinstated another time, but we did leave with such a respect for the SPCA, and all the care they put into the animal. The most impressive was the barn yard and farm animals. Gosh, these animals have it good, and don't they deserve it!!!
