If you’re after handmade gourmet individual or family pies, then go to Spelt Bakery. The make the classics like Steak and Kidney and Mince. Sourcing locally where possible, this is my favourite place for pies in Dunedin.

    They may be flying out the door at the moment, but the place to get your hot cross buns this easter is Spelt Bakery. The sticky and sweet buns are amazing and it’s no wonder they’re disappearing. In the off-season Spelt is a great place to pick up your every day baked bread like baguette, ciabatta, you name it
