Spice World - Avondale

I've been driving by this place for ages but finally went in in search of amchoor powder. I got it, and a whole heap of other spices, some semolina flour and a packet of poppadoms and all for under $10! When you go to the big supermarkets you don't expect the cashier to just need to sniff at your basket to figure out what you're buying - but that's the kind of expertise these guys have. I had four different bags form the bulk bin section and he got all of them right first time even though there was nothing written on them and they were each just slightly different colours. And of course the flavours were amazing. I'll absolutely be back.

I would like to mention that you have quality food and spice and it reminds me of my shopping experience in my home land india .

Its a shop which is well maintained in terms of hygiene. They have very good collection of all the spices & things that we use in our kitchen daily. They do get things that are required at times of the festivals. Their specials actually do save me a lot. So do visit the store and enjoy the cooking in desi style.

We have only recently got more and more into Indian cooking and doing it ourselves.  We discovered this shop on the way home one day.  It has been a blessing and such an eye opener.  A great place to come and get spices which  we can try out at home. The shopkeeper is always full of great advice and tips not that we know what we are doing so it all goes a little over my head.  But with more visits and more experiments we may produce a good meal.
