This is such an underrated little cafe that deserve way more reputation that what it has! It’s gluten free and has many vegetarian options. I love their roasted vegetable salad, with perfectly seasoned pumpkin, and also their eggs benedict with spinach is definitely a go-to meal to eat here. They have an amazing selection of gluten free and vegan cabinet desserts like the lemon square or the chocolate brownie, you must try them after your meat free meal!
Star Anise café is a new favourite of mine, having only discovered it a few months ago, I have fallen in love. First of all, the décor inside is amazing enough for me to love it without trying the food. Then the food arrived and I was even more impressed. North African inspired meals are my newest obsession thanks to this café!
When you want a little spice added to your Sunday brunch cafe in Taranaki then Star Anise cafe might just be the place to do it. Their distinctly North African twists on Kiwi classics like eggs benedict, burgers and steak sandwiches are for everyone. Wash it all down with your favourite coffee or go all out and try their sweet mint tea. It's a lip-smacker.
