In October 1995, after attending the Gauntlet Piercer Training School in San Francisco USA, Shane opened New Zealand`s first body piercing studio. Located on Broadway Newmarket under the name of Body Piercing Specialists Ltd. This was later rebranded to Streetwise to differentiate from imitators.

The shop is still growing strong with the years of knowledge and experience behind it. To this day the shop is still New Zealand`s leading source of piercing information and safe practices to the body art community.

Steve did a brilliant coverup on my back for me.  Had an old tramp stamp which I was totally sick of.  Steve came up with a brilliant idea for a cover up.  9 hours later the old one is gone and I have an awesome new, vibrant tattoo on my back.  Looking forward to getting some more work from him to add what he has already done.

    Shane from Streetwise Piercing & Tattoo was the first person to set up a piercing studio 18 years or so ago. He still offers a professional services, he's knowledgeable in his field and I'd highly recommend
