Stumpers is always top of my list of places to visit when I’m in Hokitika. A great place for the family, you’ll love their flexible and delicious menu which features the best of the best for kids, including fish and chips and burgers.

    There’s a lot to love about this Hokitika institution, not to mention their famous fries and wedges. They are perfectly salted and come with an array of sauces. My favourite meal on the menu is the Bar Basket featuring chicken tenders, pork lanterns, samosas, spring rolls, wedges and fries for $19.

      The bar on everyone’s lips in Hokitika is Stumpers Bar and Cafe. Not only a full service hotel but a place to get rowdy, play pool and catch up with friends. The garlic prawns here are excellent, especially washed down with a whisky sour.

        Heading to Hokitika? Well you must try Stumpers! They’re not only a bar and cafe but an accommodation provider. They have free Wifi which is awesome and excellent service. After a big night on the town head back to Stumpers and catch up on your favourite series in bed. Just like at home!

          I love Stumpers! This is a great dining option in Hokitika if you’re feeling hungry and seeking tasty fresh seafood. The outdoor seating area is sundrenched (when it’s not raining!) and the fireside couch is often always taken (darn!). A must try is the beer battered or pan grilled blue cod.

            Great Thai beef salad! For meals at cheap prices and extra friendly (and fast!) service, Stumpers is the place. A great spot for people watching, grab a seat by the window and watch the world pass you by. And if you want something extra to go with your Thai beef salad then get the wedges - they’re amazing!

              This place goes off every Saturday night in Hokitika, thanks to the good cheap drinks, live music and live sports coverage. And they serve breakfast every morning if you ever need help nursing that hangover.

                Not only is this great West Coast establishment a bar and cafe but it’s a hotel too. Enjoy a pint and a pub meal then stumble into your bed. A perfect Hokitika evening with a sunset to die for.
