Established in 2000, Taupo Skate Park is located on the corner of Tauhara Road and Spa Road at Hickling Park. Consisting of a concrete surface covering 1286 square metres, it measures 55 metres long by 29 metres wide.

The park undergoes regular improvements and since its opening, additions have included a drinking fountain, barriers, paving, seats, lighting and toilets in addition to the awesome skate facilities.

A good spot to come chill, whether your skating or just watching the show, as several local events including the !@M3 Sk8 Comp and Taupo Skate Competition are held here throughout the year.

Who says winter is the time to get lazy? I love seeing the Taupo kids ripping up Taupo’s skatepark over the winter holidays. The place is really well-maintained too, clean, and safe. It’s free, gets kids active - it’s really a no-brainer.

    I'm not a skateboarder, but chances are many people reading this are. If I DID skateboard, the skateboard park on the corner of Spa Road and Tauhara Road would be my first stop. It's beautifully managed, always clean, and has such a cool vibe to it, it sort of makes me want to do some skateboard jumps despite my lack of skateboard prowess. Great for kids and a good free, chillzone in general.
