Insightful! Cool place to look around

Comment by KL
I agree, definitely! :)

Te Papa is such a nice place to visit when the weather isn’t too good and you want an indoors place. It was such an interactive place with so many different exhibitions and things to see! Great for all ages! Loved the troll figurines they had on display to celebrate the launch of The Hobbit. They were such a hit with the crowd! Definitely the museum celebrities! Everyone wanted a picture with them. They must be flattered!

Love love love this museum- great location, right on the water front and easy to find. Well built and has many levels with stunning exhibitions of all sorts. First came when I was in primary and was wow-ed, came here this weekend for Festival for the Future '12 and was again wowed. They have many cool things like the earthquake room, interactive stepping map of NZ and giant squid. Worth a look- it's free. Clean, good staff and highly recommend. MUST DO

Who wouldn't give Te Papa five stars?  It's definitely the best museum in New Zealand.  So much to do with kids that a day is never enough.  Almost worth a visit to Wellington just for Te Papa.  And, even though it's a bit pricey, I love the little cafe area upstairs.  It's a great place to rejuvenate and get enough energy to carry on with more exhibits.  The museum shop is awesome too, with some beautiful NZ pieces.  Well worth a good browse.
