It’s like I’ve stepped right into Chang Mai when I visit Thai Delight in Taupo. Their decor is so authentically Thai, and their food even more so. I absolutely love their money bags - that divine golden pastry just crumbles and melts in my mouth. So yum, and so worth getting that extra portion just to satisfy my money bag craving.

I can never get sick of good Thai food. Thai Delight takes me back to the streets of Bangkok. They have some great authentic starters like curry puffs and bags of gold where the pastry absolutely melts in your mouth. The seasonings are fresh, deliciously thai and utterly delectable. We usually order a whole lot of starters to share, and keep going from there - pad thai, chicken cashew stir fry and roast duck red curry. So so so good!

Thai food is always a takeaway winner. Thai Delight in Taupo has a hands down delish chicken and seafood pad thai that never fails to satisfy. It’s a great Friday night takeaway night meal - and I love that there’s always leftovers for lunch (or breakfast) the next day because the takeaway portions are so generous! Definitely a ‘top takeaway’ in my books.

These guys make a mean Tom Yum soup - I think Tom Yum is the perfect light, healthy option, when I'm not after something creamier, richer or heavier. Thai Delight's tom yum is a favourite come Friday takeaway nights.

Thai is definite winter food. My thai go-to in Taupo is Thai Delight - amazing red duck curry, and a perfect Friday takeout dinner option. Great pricing too and I love that I always have heaps of leftovers for lunch the next day!

Love some Tom Kah in my belly! This is a medium hot coconut soup served with seafood and/or chicken. It's different to Tom Yum because it has coconut in there and I first tried it at Thai Delight Restaurant (having already tried most things on their menu). I think it's on par with Tom Yum soup - and would happily take it home as a takeway option, combined with some prawn cakes.

Thai Delight is a little bit of South East Asia in Taupo. A great place to catch up with friends, and let your hair down over a pad thai and a glass (or two_ of wine. I absolutely love their pad thai - easy choice, and probably not very adventurous as far as Thai food is concerned, but it never disappoints. I like mine with both prawn and chicken, and I always ask for extra crushed peanuts and lemon wedges. Was it down with some coconut water and that’s me for the night!

Good, good, sweet Thai. This place dishes up some amazing, authentic Thai food, the service is great, quick, and friendly, what more could you want? Favourite dish of mine is their spicy roast duck - yum, yum, YUM! If you’re a first time thai goer, try their pad thai - it’s a safe bet, and will ALWAYS be delicious.

Atmosphere, great food, and right in Taupo town. Thai Delight is a great place to go to for a dinner date night out without all the fuss of having to dress up fancy. You can dine in a relaxed environment, with friendly waiters. Good-place for double dates with long time couple freinds too.

I love Thai. Nuff said. And Thai Delight Restaurant in Taupo doesn't dissapoint. Pad Thai is always a goer. SO SO YUM! Friendly staff, good atmosphere if you're dining in. Fantastic decor - feels as if you have stepped into South East Asia for a bit. Their menu is awesome, so if you're a bit of a risk taker order something a little bit different.
