If you're looking for really different & fun couple of hours out, the Thames Working Mens' Club might just fit the bill! Live music on Friday & Saturday evenings provide the aural backdrop to a really nice, friendly local community atmosphere. With really good bar prices - the lowest you'll most likely find anywhere - and a top quality kitchen (fresh local fish dishes, great traditional roasts), you can mix in with the locals & even have play pool for free! And it's open to new members too - you can even get signed in by one of the super-friendly staff there. A definite recommendation the next time you're in town.
