Pick the comedian for appropriate material, but who doesn’t like a good laugh and what better way to experience live performance in an intimate setting than Auckland’s home of laughter.

Check the humour is clean enough but this is a great, fun experience.

Check out a comedy show at The Classic - there’s nothing better than a night of drinks, laughing and camaraderie! The comedians are kind of hit or miss, so do your research before going. On that note, be sure to check out as many shows as you can during the annual Auckland Comedy Festival - which features hilarious NZ and international acts.

Wednesdays and Saturdays are always well worth it at the Classic. Grab a jug at the bar and prepare to be entertained. There may be the occasional awkward moment on a Wednesday, when new performers take to the stage, but for the most part they’re pretty good. And at 10 acts for $15 you really can’t complain. Saturdays feature more seasoned comedians, and you’re guaranteed to laugh out loud.

Culture.. or could be lack of... but either way you are in for a good night! Hilarious time for all- For the more conservative just note, the later the show, the more you blush!!

Came here for a quick drink before seeing a show at the comedy festival. The drinks were reasonably priced but the bar area is quite small, so you'll be lucky to get a seat. Getting to the show was a bit daunting (especially in heels) as you have to climb a flight of very steep stairs but the room was very cozy and small, which was great for interacting with the performer.

Thursday night is pro night at the Classic and the show features up to 5 professional comedians including international guests, their comedian of the week, rising stars and they also introduce an exciting new face each week. Great value at only $18 for a full 2 hour show! WHEN: Apr. 11, 2013 7:00pm COST: $18 for members | $18 for non-members through Auckland Young Professionals

The search is on for NZ's funniest new face. Two grand in prize money, offers of professional work as a stand-up comedian  and, well, the glory are up for grabs. From Mon 4 March until Mon 22 April The Classic will be holding 7 official heats, every Monday featuring up to 10 comedians performing 5-6 mins of their own original stand-up comedy and hosted by one of our local pro comedians. It’s going to be tense. Some will fall flat on their face, some will have you in stitches. Prepare to laugh at, and with. Some awkward squirming is to be expected. Followed by 2 semi-finals on Mon 29 April & Sun 5 May at The Classic and a Grand Final on Sun 12 May at - 'Q' Theatre on Queen St. All part of the 2013 NZ International Comedy Festival. WHEN Monday 25/03/2013 Mar, 8:00pm–10:30pm COST Adult: $5.00 Students - 2 for the price of 1: $5.00

Want to do something different? Head to the Classic for a night of comedy. An intimate setting with an ever rotating series of comedy shows, you're in for a night of giggles. Lube up the laughing pipes with a few beers with a group of mates but don't be the guy who thinks he's funnier than the comedian. No one's into him.

Chilled out venue, loads of history, great for a date or a night out with your friends!!
