The Esplanade

I booked this place for my breakfast birthday and it was perfect! It is modern and pretty with such amazing views to the ocean. The staff were really friendly and the coffee was great. Then came the food! Oh my gosh! I only ordered eggs and toast but even that was a little bit special, served with a brown walnut bread and some incredible garnish it really did make my day! Highly recommend.

Beautiful food ,sirloin steak was to die for with mushroom sauce .ambiance was great and staff were very helpful.totally reccomend.

I  note someone before me has given this place a one-star rating. We've been twice now (for brunch / lunch) and have had a great experience. We are fans of the Beach House in Bucklands Beach and understand these two restaurants are now affiliated. The premises used to host some very average cafes, and we always lamented that in such a location, a decent restaurant would go far. Hallelujah, now The Esplanade has been refurbished, and as a family we've enjoyed both our visits. The kids menu is extremely well priced and they get a gorgeous 'gourmet' meal for under $10. The adult meals have always been excellent and although sometimes you have to wait on a busy weekend, who cares when the weather is fine and the views of Rangitoto world-class. The kitchen is always prone to a little 'frippery' when it comes to presentation - but I rather like that. On both occasions the staff were friendly and attentive and I've never had cause to complain :-)
