I believe this pub is classic kiwi because of it’s interior. It’s suggests a laid back, no worries type of pub, which is exactly what us kiwis are about! It feels like you’re at home having a great meal with your mates, with the added bonus of the friendliest service around! I’m a huge pizza fan, and The Good Home do great ones; even if you don’t eat meat they have this delicious gourmet vege pizza!
Good and heart winter food is just around the corner, and at The Good Home, it’s already available to chow down on. It’s almost like having a home cooked meal because the restaurant really does look like a house! And who doesn’t love creamy pasta on a chilly night, or even a crispy skinned pork belly with a sticky sake glaze?
The Good home has always been a favourite restaurant of mine to visit. The place is in a way, like a little house on the inside so the theme is all about relaxing, taking your time, and feeling right at home. They’ve just released some new dishes for those vegetarians out there that sound delicious: a Zucchini burger on a brioche bun, tofu salad and a margarita pizza! They have a rear lounge that you can sit with a wine or cocktail and enjoy a meal.
Warm and welcoming is what perfectly describes the Good Home. “Make yourself at home” is their motto that they standby and produce throughout the whole business. A quirky little café and restaurant, they have a letterbox by the front entrance that says ‘Menu please take one’. And the interior actually looks like the inside of a house, with bookshelves and picture frames hanging on the wall, and even a fireplace! This will be sure to warm you up on those cold winter days or nights!
