One word: Tapas. They are one of my favourite ways to eat, with friends or alone to try a variety of options, The Hour Glass has the best tapas, and has a variety of craft beer to boot. It’s probably one of the best places to come for a low key drink with your mates, as it’s cosy but still big enough to be comfortable. I also can’t stress enough how much I love the furnishings and decor inside!

The Hour Glass is famous in Taranaki for their extended range of craft beers. They’re actually the leading craft beer bar in New Plymouth. They feature over 27 different craft beers that are each unique tasting and special. On top of having a great selection of craft beer and tapas, the Hour Glass has an amazing interior décor that puts you in a relaxed and chilled out mood.

The Hour Glass is quite an underrated little bar in the CBD, serving beer, wine, and the much loved tapas! They’ve just recently started stocking a new beer; Brew Mountain is home grown right here in Taranaki and has four different flavours available on tap. Last year, the bar earned the ‘Outstanding Bar’ Halamoana award; a wonderful achievement!
