If you're out and about in Herne Bay beware of the rabbit holes – but in the best way possible.

A quaint cafe with a fairytale twist, the Rabbithole has been charming its patrons since late 2010 with their homemade season delights. This bunny boasts an all out mind boggling selection of treats, all served on varied vintage plates with an array of mismatched cutlery.

Let the kids roam the yard while you relax in one of the friendliest warrens in town.

The whimsical nature of its decor makes The Rabbit Hole adorable. It's essentially a tribute to Alice in Wonderland complete with vintage tea party cups, playing card table numbers and big wing chairs... It just gets curiouser and curiouser.

Great coffee and a sandpit to boot.

Where Herne Bay's Jervois Road peters out into surburbia there is one last stop definitely worth checking out. Driving passed, the sweet fairy tale aesthetic caught my eye. With a name like Rabbit Hole, the interior is aptly decked out with hints of Alice in Wonderland. Perfect for a variety of occasions with the choice of the beautiful ivy draped back deck, cosy tables inside and picnic tables out front. Very family friendly but there is enough space to find a quiet spot for more intimate gatherings. Their hot chocolates are to die for!

yummy cheese and date scones good coffee

The Rabbit Hole Cafe is a great little cafe next to Bayfield Primary. Either sit in the poky interior or relax on the small deck and get some fresh air. We had the mince on toast served with a poached egg. The portion was generous and pretty dam tasty. Good coffee, good food and great staff. What’s not to like?

Have been meaning to pop into the Rabbit Hold Cafe for an age and a bit, as I drive by every day during the week. Finally got there after the half-marathon on Sunday, staggered in and sat by the large table by the door. It was very busy but loved the kitcsh, mismatch of eccletic styles ... definitely my kind of decor. It's fascinating just taking the place in. There were five of us on a very busy morning, coffee was yummy and we all enjoyed our breakfasts. Would've been nice to linger but pushchairs were gridlocking to the counter, which made it seem mean of us to have another round of drinks. Staff were efficient and friendly, and the food arrived surprisingly quickly, considering how busy the cafe was. Prices are pretty standard fare, and their were no disappointments in the food department, all plates were deemed delicious. Would be nice to go again, but maybe not at a peak time, as would be nice to linger. Definitely worth a visit.

Cute quirky interior, chilli scrambled eggs were nice, big breakfast was dissapointing. Lovely on the covered balcony in the sun, worth a try.Coffee was not the best (slightly bitter and weak) so if they attended to this it would be a perfect cafe. Ask for two shots.

Feels like a magical land when you are in this most gorgeous of coffee shops! The staff are pretty friendly and the coffee is on the high side of average/good. Food took a fair while to come out but wasnt too bad when it did, even if the prices are a little steep. Very cute little cakes and things on the counter. Would be great to take a little girl for a magical tea party.

Pro: atmosphere Con: opening hours I finally had the chance to check out the Rabbit Hole, which I've been wanting to do for months now, but with the opening hours, it never works out. On the weekend they close at 3pm - which is the time I would like to go for a coffee. During the week it's 4pm, which could also be longer. I had tried a sandwich and a muffin which was both delicious. And like everyone else has mentioned in their review, it's just the cutest cafe with an awesome interior design. Great place to catch up with a friend or come to read a book.

Forget the gorgeous coffee and cakes for a minute, just walking into The Rabbit Hole is a magical experience in itself. I felt as if I'd been transported into the Alice in Wonderland movie right there and then! I loved it and will definitely be going back as soon as possible.

Sounds awesome! I'll have to bring the littlie... But you only gave it 2 and a half stars... Was that a slip of the mouse or was there something else to say?
