If you're out and about in Herne Bay beware of the rabbit holes – but in the best way possible.

A quaint cafe with a fairytale twist, the Rabbithole has been charming its patrons since late 2010 with their homemade season delights. This bunny boasts an all out mind boggling selection of treats, all served on varied vintage plates with an array of mismatched cutlery.

Let the kids roam the yard while you relax in one of the friendliest warrens in town.

For people who love retro-kitsch, add this place to your Auckland cafe destination list. From the grandmothery crockery to the playing card order numbers, everything fits in the theme and creates a great atmosphere.

    This cute cafe has a great overall 'Alice and Wonderland' feel to it which makes you forget about your busy life while you are there. The outdoor dining out the back is really special not to be outdone by the quirky tables inside. I had a delicious smoothie and unique muesli while I was there and will definitely be going back for more! A great place to take your friends to impress them with something a little out of the ordinary! 

      I love this little cafe, feels like you're stepping into a scene from Alice and Wonderland. The food is really tasty and reasonable. They don't actually sell iced coffee's on the menu, yet I have asked a couple of times and they have been more than happy to make one up for me and they are always very nice. Not a place that you would go to with a lot of people as there isn't a great amount of space. Definitely recommend going and checking it out. 

        You can't NOT smile when you have brunch at this place. You can tell they've put their heart and soul into ensuring the place resembles a slice of Alice in Wonderland - the attention to detail is such that you keep noticing new little touches the whole time you're there. Then there's the staff. You can tell they're really happy to work here - they must be a close family or good friends. Last but not least, the food. It's a big call but I'm going to say it - hands down the best eggs bene in Auckland. And guess what else? It's at the end of my road. Result!

          Step into wonderland - decorated with mismatched chairs and playing cards as table numbers. Food is great and there is a nice deck area.

            Pretty little place to enjoy a coffee with the girls. 

              Nestled in Herne Bay, the Rabbithole Cafe has an interesting and diverse menu and a fantastic setting on a broad, sunny piece of pavement opposite Bayfield Primary.  Tried the chilli scrambled eggs this morning - was a real taste sensation, and a nice twist on an old classic. 

                Good service and a menu that includes familiar items and those with a twist (like the chilli scrambled eggs - delicious!) A sandpit outside keeps the tots entertained in good weather while good coffee satisfies more grown up needs.
