The Salvation Army Thrift Shop - Balmoral

There are many Salvation Army stores around so you are bound to find one nearest to you to go get your op shopping fix. There is more than just clothes here so there is heaps of stuff to look through - there’s books, childrens toys, homewares, the list goes on. So be sure to set aside a few hours to rummage through the piles to find your gems!

This is one of my favourite Sally Army shops in Auckland.  They have a good range of continuously changing stock.  No matter when I go in, I pretty much always find at least a wee bag of stuff to buy.  It's pretty popular and is generally always busy.  They have a small amount of  furniture, china, books etc as well as a large amount of clothing.  They have regular sales too - often with different items for half price.

Don't miss the books and furniture down the back driveway in a separate room...

an excellent op shop- just the kind i like- bursting to the seems with stuff and you could easily spend a whole hour looking for everything. Reasonbaly priced though it is best to go when they are having a sale. They usually have something on sale everyday, be it clothes or furniture- whatever they have too much of I guess! Friendly and helpful staff too! You could easily kit out a whole flat with stuff from here!

I furnished my new flat with great finds from here. There's new things all the time and the staff are enthusiastic and helpful. There are clothes but I would say that the store is especially good for furniture, linen and homewares. 

This salvation army usually has good deals going, they have a blackboard upon which they let you know the specials of the day - half price books, clothing etc. I've picked up many a good book there - from Tolstoy , to Witi Ihimaera, to great gardening books. The list goes on.
