This little beach 30 minutes north of Christchurch is in an area quite badly affected by the earthquakes, however this spot is still untouched and provides a beautiful spot for a day of surfing, swimming and picnicking at the beach.
There's a place for kids to play, and both the sea and the mouth of the Ashley River to swim in as well as popular fishing, camping and surfing spots, so there's pretty much no good excuse not to visit for your next day at the beach.
