Friday and Saturday nights in Left bank arcade, just off Cuba Street, something magic happens. Delicious food vendors, serving up everything from crepes to Chimichanga line the arcade, punctuated by art and jewelry stalls, and even live music. Sheltered from the (inevitable) rain, Wellington night market is an invigorating alternative to the classic dinner-and-a-movie winter night out.

With free entertainment and a great atmosphere, hanging out here is a great way to spend the start of your Friday night. With many trying to take in the bohemian culture that people talk about, it’s a hive of activity.

On Cuba St, down the leftbank arcade after 5pm on Fridays the night markets begin. With a wide variety of food on offer from different ethnicities, this is a great place to spend your Friday evening having your dinner, and exploring the other stalls that are available. You should be able to find something to your liking and if anything you usually end up spoilt for choice and struggling to pick between which stalls to get your food from. Always at reasonable pricing, it’s an excellent place to start your weekend.
