White sandy beach, beautiful scenery from the beach going into the harbour, go fishing off the wharf and only a walk to the local shops.

Beautiful Beach, use to hold world surfing champs there. Great place to have fish and chips and eat them on the wharf.

Awesome!

This stunning beach is buzzing with summer energy this time of year, which makes it a perfect day-out. Soak up the sun, walk the whole way along the white sand, play with the kids or take a picnic. I like the idea of coming here really early, seeing the sun rise and feeling it the beach warm up.

I lived in Whanga for a year and it is a place I always love to visit and catch up with mates for a beer. My older brother is a keen surfer - he tried to teach me on the small breaks here but I was pretty hopeless!

With Dad’s old dunga tucked under my arm I used to wander down the beach to learn to surf. Now I know my way around the waves I know where the best spots are depending on the tides, winds and wave conditions. Whether it’s down at mussel rock, out at "The Bar" or just in front of the surf club, there is always something going on at the beach.
