Spearheaded by Palmerston North City Council, Youth Space was established in September 2011. A place for young people aged 13 to 19 to hang out in the city, the alcohol and drug free facility aims to provide local teenagers with the opportunity to socialise, be creative and develop skills that will help them live life to the fullest.

All activities and events are free of charge, while onsite facilities include a multi-purpose space for exhibitions, workshops and activities, meeting rooms, a youth library, training kitchen, gaming area, computers, free wifi, table tennis, a guitar and piano.

Youth space creates a fun environment for teens to hang out, socialise, learn something fun or just get out of the house. The thing that makes it great is that it's a safe hangout space with no drugs or alchol and there are plenty of things to keep kids of that age entertained without getting into trouble!
