Expect friendly service, delicious fresh ingredients and quite possibly the best Chinese food you’ll find this side of the South Island. It’s reasonably priced too. If it’s not already, Sampan looks set to become a favourite locals and visitors to Greymouth.

It’s in the name … this place sells second hand furniture. The owners are wholesale dealers who specialise mostly in beds with a few excellent pieces of furniture on the side.

If you’re a student this is the place to pick up a second hand bed, bedside drawers, lounge suite, desk and chair. The space is crammed full so make sure you leave a bit of time to walk around.

A favourite amongst visitors to Oamaru, Something Nice should be high on list if you’re looking for second hand furniture. There are sorts of antiques and secondhand items too. The only downside is you never know when it’s going to be open!

Quite possibly the most reasonable yoga studio in the land, Yoga Centre Southland was established way back in the year 2000. The studio is warm and welcoming and the service is reflective in their philosophy.

With 90 minute and 60 minute yoga classes there’s no excuse for not being able to fit in a spot of yoga at Studio Sangha. Operating out of a converted warehouse, this yoga studio is one the most popular in Queenstown. And the yoga gear that’s for sale is pretty great too!

This spiritual place is a safe place to practice your yoga. The studio is passionate about health, well being and spirituality. Nadi Wellness Centre also practices the little known feldenkrais which helps nourish your body and nurture your spirit.

Bikram yoga is not for the faint hearted! 90 minutes of yoga (the same poses in the same order every time) in a room that is 40 degrees plus isn’t for everyone. Although, if you love it or willing to give it a try, do so at Bikram Yoga Dunedin - it’s pretty great.
